On Curation

a KIND OF artist statement

I am a curator. Not a collector or archivist, cataloguer or arranger of finished things. I am no arbiter of taste, nor guard to any canon.

Curation is an art born of liminality, of the charged space between things. Of transition and juxtaposition, of relation and exchange, of surfacing and revealing. Of weaving.

I pull from the embodied yearning for aesthetic and ecological encounter. My formation lies in a foundation of Etruscan, hedonic eudaemonia (the irony of having to use those words here is certainly not lost to any of us) honed through a practice of cognitive poetics and ecosomatic awakening.

My practice aspires to the sublime: to instill awe and wonder, the likes of which seem largely, lamentably lost to the slow crush of capital and patriarchal monotheism.

My method is one of rite and ritual. I soak up inspiration from the ancient echoes and blooming palimpsests left to us from generations past.

I follow ways of being and knowing rooted in communion with the more-than-human world and am defined by a curated life, one that weaves right relations across artistic expression, nature, and community.

My mediums are myriad. I produce designed and durational objects: transmedial works that move between physical and digital, ephemeral and permanent.
